A TEMPLE OF LOVE

In January of 1998 Mr. Dayanidhi was executing a landscape project for a company in Gummudipoondy (50kms from Chennai [formerly Madras]). His work impressed the company so much that he was given a cash award. He went home satisfied but felt the money should be used valuably.

He told his wife and three children (two sons and a daughter who is now married) that he wanted to use a part of the award towards a good cause. They asked him what he had in mind. He replied, "I want to start an orphanage and a home for senior citizens." They readily approved. Thus A Temple Of Love was born. Mr. Dayanidhi gave one-half of the cash to his wife and used the rest to start this charity. He christened it Anbu Karangalin Anbu Illam which in Tamil means 'A Loving Home of Loving Hands'.

Initially he went around Ponneri looking for orphaned and or abandoned children. He found five such children and brought them home. He hoped the home would change their lives. In his own words, "It was a tough task but I carried forward with divine blessings and support from many philanthropists." From a humble begining of five children the home grew to twelve and today houses forty-five residents (young and old). Generous donations have enabled Mr. Dayanadhi to stand as a proud father, brother, carer, and a friend to all at A Temple Of Love.
